Working on an old galvanized tin oil pan. Soldered several rust holes but still leaks. Can a gas tank sealant be used for oil? Or what would be best sealant?

Somebody on the Oliver forum used something on a hydraulic oil pan a few years ago that worked well, but I don't remember now what it was. If somebody here doesn't know, you might ask over there.

I don't know why the gas tank liner would not work. I'd sure be tempted to try it.

I've used it on an a Regular, F-20, and F-30 oil pan. I brushed it inside and out. So far so good but they don't get a lot of hours. I've also used it on radiators and floats. No problems yet!

I used JB Weld on the oil pan of my Chevy truck.Drain the oil and clean the surface with brake cleaner.New holes kept leaking but it got me a couple more years of use.I have used brazed patches inside oil pans.
