I posted a message earlier and haven"t got a response. I"ll try again with a little more detail. I aquired a International t340 crawler. It Steers to the left fine but not to the right. It will steer to the right if you pull real hard on the stick. I restore tractors as a hobby. I figure its the brake worn out. I"ve got the track and rear sprocket off. I"ve got it the tractor unbolted from the frame, so I can jack the tractor up and get the final drive off. All the bolts that hold the final drive to the transmission are out, but I Can"t get it off.
It want budge. Is there something holding it internally to the axle shaft? I"m Stumped.

Post your question on the crawler or the IH boards and you should get an answer.I work on a lot of track machines but I am not faiiliar with that model . Does it have dowell pins, that could be holding it?

It does have dowel pins at the bottom. I actually took a small ton jack and put it between the final drive housing and the trans. and got about a 1/64 in. of a crack to appear at the bottom, but this is not a good way to try to get it apart if there is something holding it internally. thanks for replying. i may post it on the crawler forum.
