crankshaft pulley

Does anyone know the secret to removing the crankshaft pulley for a 1950 Farmall C. I cant get it to budge.

They are press fit so you need to make a special puller plate or you will end up buying a new one. What I did was took two piece of 1/2 inch plate and cut a U in them then drilled holes in the 2 plates so as to make a plate I could use a gear puller on. That way your pulling on the plate not the pulley it self.

This is what Bigdog made for pulling a Cub pulley using a bottle jack or hydraulic ram. Use a split bearing separator so you don't damage your pulley. Hal

do be carefull.

I used a puller plate and STILL broke my hub.. luckilly they are still available...

remember when you put it back on to use a speedi sleeve if the seal wore a groove..a dn loosen the timing cover to pilot it on t he seal / hub
