hen I said 'No Thermostat" I meant I don't see one or anyplace one would have been. This tractor ran fine until just after I bought it from a friend.

Thermostat should be some place in line with the top radiator hose. You could also have a block that is full of rust and lime and needs to be flushed. My self I use white vinegar. Drain the system and fill with vinegar and run it till hot. Let cool and drain then flush with water from a garden hose. Best way is to rig up a way to use the block drain to flush it

Thanks for the advice. hope to have time tonight to look for that thermostat and will do the flush as you suggest!

Some moline models had a thermostat cartridge inside the top radiator hose. A seemingly unnessary hose clamp in the middle of the hose and a hard spot in the hose is a tipoff.

I also agree to look for a stuck distributor advance or retarded ign timing.

Have also seen overheating from a bad water pump seal leaking air into the system.
