do to the cost of new rocker arm's i bought bushing's and a friend at a machine shop put on a cnc machine and milled old one's to recieve new bushing's. my real question is,in the new factory rockers is there a oil channel from the spurt hole that goes to the valve tip to, the center oil channel? Im having trouble getting oil to the valve tip's, even with a new rocker shaft, new bushing's and 50 psi. oil pressure. Im told I should not have over 35psi. Pressure is so high it blowing past seal on oil filter. (spin on)

Very hard to help you help your self with out knowing what your working on. Lack of info means lack of or no help

I recommend posting your question on the YT FORD forum & hope that AWHTX sees it.

Yes as JMOR says. You say your blowing the oil filter gasket. Make sure you do not have an oil o-ring sticking in the base because that will cause that and if you do not then your oil pump relief valve maybe sticking or set to high either one of those will cause that problem

Where is the "rocker arm spurt hole" that you mentioned?

This discussion on rocker arms reminded me to ask. Where can you get that valve adjustment tool that is pictured in the 600 series Shop Manual?. A while ago I saw one in the Snap-on catalog. I don't think they have it anymore. Thank you for any help. Great New Year to Everyone.

The spurt hole is on the top of the rocker arm,it's the hole in which the oil come's out of to lube the valve tip.The question is, on the inside of the rocker (rocker removed) you will see a center groove or channel for oil to flow through< look a little higher and and you will see it. Does the original rocker have a groove or channel connecting the center to the oil hole?

If it is the tool I think you are talking about, I believe I have seen them at NAPA. I have used just a wrench and a screwdriver.

whtx is going to look at some Fri or Sat. I just don't recognize the hole that you speak of, sorry.

I looked at some diesel tractor rocker arms and some Y-block rocker arms that I have. Both of them have 2 squirt holes- 1 for the adjusting ball to pushrod cup and another for the rocker arm to valve stem. There is an internal groove in the center of the rocker arm. The squirt hole for the adjusting ball to pushrod cup intersects this groove. The squirt hole for the rocker arm to valve stem does not intersect this groove.
I hope this helps you.
