Farmall 460 shifting problem

When my 460 is not on flat ground it is very hard to shift. Seems like there is pressure on the drive train. Then if I move it and shift while it is moving just a little it shifts ok. Also, when I step on the clutch and it is headed up hill it won't roll back. Has anyone got an idea what's wrong?

If you have a TA then it probabably needs adjustment as it will affect shifting. If you have a manual it will tell how to adjust.

The TA is stuck in direct drive. I wonder why it will not roll backwards down hill when the clutch is depressed but it will forwards.

My 560 does the same thing just not all the time , new clutch and new t/a clutch, I know this doesn"t help you but I found that when I pull the t/a then it will shift fine.

your ta needs adjusting the link from the eng clutch arm to the ta arm needs to be shortened a little bit so it will release the ta drive clutch . duane
