The NAA should have the flange mount type starter. The last of the pass thru type came on the 8N then they change to the flange mount so what tractor do you really have. As for how to do the pass thru you simple pull them like you would any other bolt then carefully slide the start out till you can install 2 nuts so the starter does not fall apart on you and then pull the starter. If it has the pass thru bolts they take a 5/16 nut

| It is a naa ,I have starter off and it has a pass thru bolt that comes off from inside. I have rebuild kit for naa with new one.
