Fordson Major Steering Spindle

Hi,
I need help replacing the upper spindle bushing on my Fordson Major. The spindle won't fit through the bushing when installed, but I'm sure I've got the right bushing.
Thanks!
Daniel

You may have "mushroomed" the bushing a little bit when you drove it in. A rat tailed file and some emery cloth should fix it.

Thanks!, but I don't think that's the issue - the one for the other side won't fit over the top part of the spindle when taken right out of the package.

go to the auto parts store and get a brake cylinder hone, and some WD40 keep honing till it slides in snug.snugger the better.the wd is for honing lube and to keep the stones clean while honing.

Old post but for reference,
The bronze bushing are to be reamed to 1.5" once installed. An adjustable reamer ain't cheap, $125 bucks!

I suppose a brake hone will work may take a while. Just get creative, I wrapped self stick 80 grit around a socket and went to town with an air tool.
Heck it ain't a vehicle going down the highway at 75 miles per hour!
Turned out fine for me, just check your fit often.
