Doe's anyone know how I can get a nice chrome finish on my farmall exhaust pipe?
It needs to withstand some heat.
Is there spray paint available? Or doe's it need to be plated?

I have thought of the same idea as I re finish my tractor. On one of the other discussions sections [06-11-2012 >10:29:25> 75.179.137.24] don56, Tony W, GordoSD,Eric in CA, DSCott were all discussing painting the exhast manifold. There are some pictures and a generous description there of their findings.
As I said I have also thought of the same, so I will be watching to find out any wonderful ideas about your idea of chroming the manifold.

They put a ceramic, high gloss finish on old
car manifolds..it"s available in many colors,
and heat resistant. There are ad"s for services
in "Hemmings motor news" magazine.
And it"s been around for a long time! I had, but
sold,a 1924 Rickenbacker, 9 main bearing straight
Eight that had ceramic"d manifolds..looked like
gloss enamal, no cracks or burn off.

You will probably want the manifold powder coated. There is hi-temp paints you can use but after a couple of years it does begin to wear off.

On the exhaust, I'm not familiar with Farmalls, but your best bet would be to buy a chrome stack that is double walled. If you just go with a single wall pipe and chrome it, the exhaust heat will discolor the chrome over time.

I know of a site that makes pipes out of stainless steel. They make them in loud to quite with 45 and 90 degree outlets. They have a muffler built in them and they are about 23" long. Its called ( The Rod Shop phone 1-800- Rod Shop). They also have a website that shows what they handle.
