Differences in JD/IHC Carbs

Im wanting to know which one is more complex, a carb off of a 48 H Farmall, or a carb off of a 39 A JD?

They are equally complex and each will have it's own little differences and challenges. No such thing as a "simple" carburetor.

I bought a can of starter spray. Took the top cap off the carb and sprayed it. Nothing happened with it running off a belt to another tractor idleing. I had the mag redid, and I checked it yesterday, and its getting spark. Could I take off the carb and just spray into the inlet??

Secret passages on the IH carbs also, but they are slightly more accessible than the JD carbs.

Ignition systems do sometimes have a secret passage, which is not particularly a GOOD thing, and more often than not can be quite a chore to track down and plug.

Starter spray is bad stuff.I think it fires on compression with out a spark.Best not to use it.
