I have a 1964 John Deere 2010 dsl tractor and I just got the lift to start working...had to replace the linkage and clamps..nothing major (I am NOT a mechanic). The lift works fine, but as I was driving the tractor, hydraulic fluid began to leak out (in a steady stream) from the top nut of my steering wheel. Any ideas as to what is happening here? I know it has to be a seal somewhere..but heck if i know where to look. Also, what is the hydraulic fluid capacity? Any help would super awesome. Thanks.

To see the steering box diagram, look on the JD parts web site. Enter 2010 in the search box and scroll down to the 2010 wheel tractor ,pick the index section and then the steering section for diagram and part #s, their are several o rings and seals. As for the hdy fluid capacity it should be level with the fill hole, plug is above rt floor board, back end of tranny case, aprox 8 gal. required..

Thanks J. B.... I appreciate the reply. Went to JDeere site and got a look at the steering wheel parts. Will pull the old one off this weekend and replace the seals... see if it solves the leak issue. Found the hyd. fluid fill spot and it was low. Thanks for the info, and have a great 4th of July.
