removing a broken carb jet

upon disassembly, i found my super m's carb to have its idle jet broken off just below the surface. i tried a quality easy-out, but it broke. i tried a reverse drill bit, but the jet did not budge.

i would hate to have to replace the carb becasue of this. anyone have any other ideas?

Heat with torch until brass just starts to change colors ,let cool ,heat again.Let cool completly. Brass expands faster than cast. It shoud shrink enough to screw out with small easy-out

Drill it out with a #40 drill, and then use a #4-40 threading tap to rethread the hole. I suggest NOT using your electric drill, but rather use something to hold the bit and drill it by hand.

Use caution. A broken drill bit is impossible to remove, and like wise with a broken threading tap.

Another word of advice. Those easy-outs belong in the scrap iron pile. Any of them I have ever attempted to use either didn't work, or did even more damage.

i was hoping someone knew the thread of the jet......thanks

I've done several. You can get the #4-40 threading tap at your local N.A.P.A
I've also found them at True-Value hardware stores.
