when my tractor misses when it idles and needs power, Is it the carburator or the distributer that making it do that. I changed plugs and checked the inline filter to the carburator. Can it be the points are bad? |

| | ditto what old said.. inline filters cause more problems than they take care of. also.. you didn't mention what your points gap was, or plugs.. and condition of plugs. what are the specific symptoms? better to have asked in the ford section.. |

| In line fuel filter?? Those are a waste of time and $$ take it out. If your system is as it should be it has 3 filters built in and adding another filter causes problems and most are made to be run on system with a fuel pump and your tractor has no fuel pump. As for you miss it could be weak spark or a lean condition at the carb. Your spark needs to be a blue/white and jump a 1/4 inch gap |
