WD-45 gas tank clean and seal

I've never used a tank sealer before. The kit I have is Northern brand and I bought it from this site. I cleaned the tank with Works toilet cleaner. I used a concrete mixer to tumble it with some roofing nails. Cleaned up pretty good. Still a little rust or dirt in the bottom. I would like to kill the rust completely before coating. Could I use phosphoric acid or will this cause a problem? They say this can coat over rust but I don't want it to blister and come off in a couple years. I'd also like to know how long this sealer lasts. Thanks for the info.

Get some muratic acid. After use rinse thuoroly(sp) with hot water, drain and let dry completely then use sealer. I personally use POR-15 kit for rusty gas tanks and never have had any problems.

Good luck.
