I have a 47 2N, whenever the tractor gets to temperature, the battery boils over. I have turned the generator to the lowest setting and I have also replaced the solenoid. Any other ideas of whats happening? Thanks, Chad |

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeUnless it has been modified, 2N shouldn't even have a regulator to smack.

Probably 90 percent of the time....just smack it with a hammer ...(the regulator) has welded itself. It happened alot years ago.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeHas it always done this or it this a "new" occurrence? I.e., have you ever observed it operating properly with the present generator?

With the engine at 1/2 throttle or better and using a volt meter what is your charging voltage across the battery terminals? On a 6 volt battery you should see 7.0-7.2 volts. If it's a lot higher you're over charging the battery. Could be the regulator. Hal
