I am trying to restore a 1972, 3 Cylinder, Diesel, Ford 4000. I have been unable to locate a wiring diagram. Does someone have an image that they can post, or can someone direct me to a sight that has this at no or low cost?

The system needs to include wiring for the cold start, keyed ignition switch and wiring to the glow plug.

Thanks

Ford 4000 does not have glow plugs. They have a thermostart in the intake manifold. Depending if it has the original key switch or the later version, will depend on which terminal of the switch the large brown wire going to the thermstart hooks to. The original switch had to turn to the left to heat the thermostart and the newer switches heated when turned to the right. I may have a diagram, but won't be back in the shop till monday.Wiring on these tractors is very simple can be traced out in a few minutes with a test light.

Thank you. I stand corrected; you are correct. I was just referring to the thermostart in the intake manifold. You are also correct about the wiring being fairly simple. It is just a little harder since someone cut the wiring harness in two and discarded most of the connectors. A diagram makes reconstruction so much easier. I am looking forward to seeing the diagram when you have a chance to send it.

Thanks for the quick response and inforamtion.
