drivetrain stops and or locks

What might cause Farmall 140 to suddenly stop moving like throwing car in park?
Shifter rails and dentballs springs are working fine.
Was a broken oiler gear but replaced thought would resolve lockup but not.

Hard to say without knowing more details, but you probably need to dig a little deeper. Might be a broken tooth on a bull gear. Might be a totally worn out bearing with one of the balls ending up in the wrong place periodically.
