They have started to show before and after pictures on some of the car and truck shows on the speed channel.
I plan on trying some to see how it works.

Could you please explain that? If you had the resources and a good product or service you would try to keep it quiet?

I don't pay much attention to advertising, I prefer something with a proven track record, which this product may or may not achieve, perhaps it already has and I simply have not heard of it. One post says it is citric acid, perhaps "greener" than the usual phosphoric acid, which does have a track record. I don't spend much money on products that I know little about. At any rate I prefer to remove rust mechanically, yes it takes a while, and leave the acid type products for areas I can't get to. Only my opinion.

My brother uses a product called "RUSTBEETER"
which is made from sugar beet pulp byproduct.
It does a great job, but is very slow--it's
OK if you've got weeks to let your rusty item
soak.

I agree that one would not want to keep a successful product "quiet". However, if you look at many ads today, the more hype, streamers, ballons, loud mouthed announcers, the more BS is likley to be in the product. (Car ads are the worst at this, they actually say nothing at all when you sum it up. They use expressions like "save", "0 Down", etc, which mean nothing. "You must call right now"! Why, are they going to stop making cars? LOL))
The infomercials are a good example. If the announcer acts like they are on crack and jumping all around, it is usually because they are trying too hard to express something that they know is garbage.

Safe and cheapest remover for me is a mix of 3 parts water 1 part molasses.
Removes even the deepest pitted rust. Just immerse in solution, an old bath tub is perfect.
Dont use on alloy, will strip galvanising and be careful of cast iron as it will eat away if left too long.
