hydraulic problem with 460 farmall

I have a recuring problem with a farmall 460. when the engine is running it always seems like it's under load. when I am using any hydraulics like raising the loader the engine runs faster like I'm taking the load off the system. It should work the other way around. I am guessing it's a problem with a relief valve, but don't know where to locate or adjust it. We had this problem a couple of years ago and my dad did something to solve this. He has since passed and I have no clue how he resolved this. Any advice would be greatly appricated. Thanks

Check the linkage running from left arm to leftside of valving. Take it apart and lube. if its sticking it will always be searching for a stopping point and your 3-point will be moving on its own.
