Oil pressure tap interference with hyd pump

Is there more than one oil pressure sensing point on Ford 4 cyl, 172cu.in. ohv engines. The only tap I am able to confirm is the one located directly behind and interferring with the hydraulic pump.I have purchased several small capillary ells and combinations of fittings without success.

I can FORCE it to accept the pump but there has to be a better way! Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Are you using the tiny brass little elbow for 1/8" pipe, part # 39830 @ your friendly New Holland dealer? (Only some $3.00.)

Bob, Thanks for your timely response to my question on oil pressure tap. The description you gave of the small elbow fits the one sold to me by my local New Holland distributor, however, the part number that I was given is 873795.

It is difficult for me to visualize a fitting smaller than the one one presently installed. when it is fully installed in the block it protrudes only 0.792 inches and still prevents correct installation of the hydraulic pump.

Is there not another oil pressure source on the block?

Thanks again, Bob

Further request concerning engine oil pressure fitting interferring with hyd. pump position.

Question-- What are the differences, other than cylinder sizes, between 134 cu-in and the 172 cu-in 1953 and later OHV ford tractor engines? I refer to the external block penetrations, primarily?

Thanks,
kent
