I was wondering if anybody has a way of knowing how to get antique, or 1950"s dealer decals? I think this would go good on my 60 I just painted, it came new from my home town, thanks

Call Travis Jorde Rochester, Minnesota. He not only has exact decals, but he will tell you the precise location of their placement.

Yes, he has spent years researching both the authenticity and correct placement by looking at and measuring original and unpainted tractors. He even sent me the correct upward angle of the script number 60. When I restored my A he told me to place the John Deere one and three quarters inch behind the grill seam(before late 49 the letters were centered).

Im talking about the dealer sticker that they usually put on the back of the hood, has there name of business, and place of business and telephone number when the tractors were new.

Some dealers put stickers on like car dealers do. However, most John Deere dealers near me never did. I think the only way you could get one is if the dealer was still in business and even then they could have changed their logo since 1955.

There was a decal vendor, I think HUNTER, that was offering dealer logo decals with a minimum of 5 per order. A year or so back I decided to order some and was told they were "Too time consuming to make" so were no longer available. I think any supplier (Jorde or K&K) could make them with enough incentive ($). Alternatively there was a 'make your own' decal kit available from Wal-mart in the model car area also a year or more ago. Might be something you could find and use. Good luck, I think it would make a nice touch to a tractor/implement.

Look on ebay, or do a look for the old dealerships on the internet, I know what your looking for I have a dozen here from dealers that are long gone, I put one on my old tractor and poeple are always asking were can the get them, best luck I have had is on ebay. Most of them are water transfer and the old so you have to take your time when you are putting them on, Whats the dealership your looking for?
