Restoration question

I am prepping my tractor with FEL for paint and a welding repair to the loader. I am getting ready to drain the fluid from the loader to repair and remove it. What precautions should I take to prep it for the work? I'm concerned about having the loader and cylinder ports open for an extended length of time because of contamination to the system. I suppose it would be best to plug/cap any openings, but I'm not sure if fittings are available for the hard lines. Does anyone know or if fittings are available or even neccessary? Also is there any procedure I should follow when filling the system and bleeding it? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You could cover the fittings with an oil soaked rag, then wrap ends with plastic. I do that with my 3 point bask-hoe when not in use.

You could pick out a hose for replacement and ask the shop while you are there for a few of the specially made plugs and caps.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I took the loader off last night and welded up a crack in the main frame today. How about when I put it back on? Any tips on bleeding the system and adding fluid during the procedure? The loader is a Ford model 19-510.
