I went to the cotton gin festival in Burton Texas for the tractor pull. We won in our weight class. The old girl weighed 7480 with driver. She out pulled the green ones, twice as far. I bought this one out of a junk yard in Kansas. Tinkered on the mag and put new spark plugs, been running ever since. have fun

I pull a stock W-9. We held our show 2 weeks ago and we had a dead weight sled. my old w-9 did very good, we were pulling 14,000 with it and the last run i got the ok to try a pull in 2nd gear, it still pulled out of gate. I have it weighted up so it weighs 9,700 lbs, never seemed to run low on power. Good luck TR

I am working on another W-9 and will have more weights on it. I have just about finshed this one. I am going to add some weights so I can go against the bigger ones. There is a show in the hill country of Texas in June. I hope to be finshed and can compete with the bigger ones.

Congrats on the win Howard. I was so busy I didn't get to see your W-9 pull. On Sunday I beat Royce and Keith Bartel's tractor Casper with my old rusty super m with the rattling weights in the #7000 class. Got second to a MM by 2' but I beat that tractors other driver by 5'. Remember the hill country show's pull is weighted and non-weighted and is a horsepower pull. The next pull around that is based on tractor weight is Columbus, Texas at the Colorado County Fair, Sept. 10-11. I am not sure of any others at this time. The Burton Cotton Gin and Museum tentatively has a pull scheduled to go along with their first bale celebration. I'll post more info on it when available.

If you spend enough they are all winners sooner or later!!!!! !!!
I myself have 2 W-9 tractors, they are good pullers.
In 7500lb class against a JD "R" it is usually a toss up, but in 8500 the "R" usually powers out.
If a W-9 beats a 820 or 830 you had a very productive day.

Howard, What did you do to the engine on that W-9?
I have pulled against a couple of W-9's with my Green 830 and a W-9 has never came close to taking this Green one. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Red tractors. I own three of them.
A (BN, H & M) which do win over the Green ones in their class. I have also considered a W-9 as well but haven't figured out what I need to do to one to beat a Green one.

It helps if the W-9 wieghs 5500#. You don't see many 830s there and it gives the big stoke Gs a run for there money.
