Deadweight style pulling in Ohio

Depending on your location, theres deadweight pulling in southeastern Ohio at a number of places in conjunction with county and community fairs. There's also a club in Alexandria, Kentucky and one in Rushville, Indiana that have monthly deadweight pulls on dirt. I haven't seen any 2022 schedules yet to offer more than that much info. I really like it, its a chess game and transfer sled pulling is checkers, for lack of a better way to describe it.

Winona ,Salem ,Ohio
At the community park .
I pulled there
They dont have it every week ,might be worn
Check them out. It will be fun .

Figured I'd go hang around a few events this year and try to learn a little instead of just watching.
Are there local clubs dedicated to deadweight pulling, that are close to me ?
I live in sw stark co., Ohio

Just thought of this ,may help ?
Check the Farm and Dairy paper . They list a lot of the pull adS . Im think it one of the best ways to find .
What I used when I wanted to find a pull to go to .
They have a weekly high lites of pulls also very helpful

Never gave the F&D a thought.....lol
They do have a section advertising up coming pulls.
I used to get it regularly years ago but dropped it.
They are sold at the local gas station.....have to get one.
Thanks Dennis, for the reminder

Next year can down and won it one pull ! made it to.
I learned alot from those guys ,had a lot of fun .
Dont like to go anymore get home three in the morning ,constantly falling asleep driving ,so boring . Gave up , not worth it !

Bunch of pulls around here , Winona Milebranch grange , Bunker hill , Lisbon , East Rochester, Augusta Kilgor , Dover , Gee's i can't remember them all . Been a good while since i pulled , last time i pulled was Augusta , man that was a pull to see , my 806 against Stan Millers 1456 12500 class Back in 97 He and i plum stomped everybody that night , as the battle between us went on they had every slab of weight on the sled they had and i made the full pull on my first try Stan had to come back to get his We end up putting Mike Coy up on top of the stack of weights to add a couple more pounds ( not sayen how much Mikey weighed) to the sled . And once again i made the full pull on the first try and sort stuck it to Stan by dropping the sled in a soft spot he came back around and did a hammer down side step of the clutch and stood the 14 almost straight up and when she came down five of the ft weights came off and he got a D Q. Even if he had not bounced the weights off he never moved the sled anyway. When they went to move the sled to the end of the tract they could not even shake it with Steve Vossy's 4430 . My buddy had to throw salt in and open wound and called me back up to drag the sled out of the hole and take it to the end of the track. This time i cheated a bit as i let the draft sensing work the fast hitch and with out the aid from the skid steer that was tryen to help Steve get it to move 3rd gear low range T/A in high we pulled it out of the hole and to the end of track. My close friend use to pull a 706 narrow ft gasser that was the top winning dead weight tractor around in like five/six countys I put that tractor together from a Dead ROW find at and auction he and use to go to , Donny gave 650 bucks for that 706 i did the engine and T/A tuned it while under the plow in the field . Bunker hill hated seeing that tractor come in as myself Don and his boy Mike two year running it was a clean sweep from 8500 up thru the 14500 classes .

Haw three in the morning , I left Lisbon one MORNING as the sun was coming up back when we drove our tractors to the pull . Use to be quiet a show back then . When we pulled Bunker hill it moved along pretty fast and were usually out of there by midnight , Then it was a mad run into Salem to the RED BARN for a midnight snack then down to the House of Hendron's for a shell we say night cap till closing time . Neighbor farmer friend would come out and do wheel stands with his 504 D , My othe buddy and i would fog for skeeters with our 450 D. since we had the screws backed off on the pumps big time and could really roll some coal and stand a foot of fire out the straight pipes . Ronny's 504 was faster on the road since we had his running over 3 grand and our 450's would only run around 2 grand . after the pulls ya would find 2 560'a 504 and 2 450's setting either close to the door or on the street in front of the watering hole .

(quoted from post at 10:54:59 04/01/22) Find any pulls that look promising?

I know this post is getting old, but I'm taking my 3020 to Bakersville, Ohio this saturday.
They have 5 deadweight classes......I plan on pulling the 8,500 .
We will see....lol.
