For the 2nd MSTPA pull in a row I'm the very first tractor down the track and I pull 277.05 in the 10500 HS class....This is in my home town of Nevada,MO..We had 1.25" of rain the two days before the pull and the track had a bite..Only one class had trouble with it as the sled was set a little heavy.
In the early afternoon I had pulled my 101 Massey at Jasper,MO getting a 1st and 2nd place...I rushed 35 miles home to unload the 101...I quickly loaded the 1466 IH and somehow ended up with both keys locked in the truck...I quickly got a locksmith from 10 miles away and he saved the day only charging $45...Then while weighing in,a bolt comes out of the 1466 IH's steering...We quickly find the bolt and borrow a nut from a fellow puller..Again the day is saved.
12 year old Emma Potter follows me and pulls 277.07 which is 1st place beating me by .02 ft....You cant get much closer than that..
Shane Dahmers 401 powered Ford 9600 was not that far behind us.
We had a great pull at Nevada with 91 hooks..We had quite a few Outlaw and PPL pullers there....There were (30) Pro Stock trucks..The 9,500 LPS 4.1 class had (8) strong tractors with Bo Eilenstines "Coming Undone" 1466 IH from Lebanon,MO winning at 350.05...There were (7) Outlaw 10,000 Pro's there with Doug Sobotka from Diaginol,Iowa winning on his strong 4020 JD at 363.10....They let them run and the crowd loved it..These (15) tractors alone were worth the $15 gate charge..Several hit 32 MPH coming down the track...
Sunday afternoon we are at Butler,MO for a make up MSTPA pull....Again I'm the very first tractor down the track for the 3rd time in a row and pull 297.09...
Emma follows me at 298.01 to pick up the win by just .92 ft..She's fastly turning in to a great driver in the 12.5 mph class...I'm very happy for her and we will meet again this Sat evening for a MSTPA pull at Holden,MO..I just hope to be within a foot from her..Maybe I won't draw # 1 hook again..
Once again Shane is just a few feet back with his 9600 Ford.
Long time friend and neighbor Gary Collins 8 miles down the blacktop from me made an appearance at the Nevada,MO MSTPA pull with the world famous "Bud Boss" pulling truck..Its for sale so he didnt hook it but presented the flag at the start of the pull...This truck has pulled in 48 states plus in Canada,and I think Europe...
This picture was taken at dusk at Butler,MO Sunday evening looking to the SW...This was during the Open class which was about all smokers..At one time you could see a seperate set of smoke from 4 different smokers drifting away....Butler had 74 hooks but not a great crowd as it was a make up pull.
