20in hitch verse 18 in hitch height and hp ( on top cuts )

Looking for some comparisons.

? How much more power to run 20 in on a good track then 18 and still be competitive
? Horse power to turner 14.9 verse 13.6 38
? How much more frontend weight on 20 in on a good track
? I would guess if a guy tried to run 18 in a 20 in class he would get beat very badly

To me when it weight starts to catch up with HP and gear it is about 1000 pound class difference if you are hooked. So people say no difference that you just need more frontend weight to run 20 in. But having a big hp tractor they may not just notice difference. I think it is difference in hp between pulling Div one and div 2 tractor same gap running div2 to a 3 tractor from five years ago when you go to 20in.
 
depends on track,chain length and more,are you a great guesser in the first place to always get weight placement right? I pull both,18 and 20,usually put an extra 100 on the front for 20 inch,but needed the same on really good clay(brown yellow type moist fine clay)judgement calls make the most difference in any pulling,and yes mostly more hp takes more on the front. Also the faster you go in speed,sometimes takes less weight on the front.Watch tractors ahead of you,if they mostly run out of power,lift high,move weights accordingly.
 
No I?m not a great guesser. I?ve been pulling my MM for over 20 plus years and over 30 years with ford . I keep track of my set ups from pull to pull and what sled they use ect. We pull . I have only pulled at 20? a hand full of times. I have always pull Div 2 and then 2 t when it came around. Most everything is 18? in my tri state area. I was just wanting to know what people that do switch back and forth thought difference is. Seemed about 200 pounds more at Kevin?s field of dreams track in versalies IN 4000 than we ran at Wauseon OH at 18? 2 t Fri and sat track was.
 
Kevin's old heavy sled with the 5.9 Cummins,-- has a very short chain. And at Wauseon,some of the best clay you can find on any track in the country.
 
Did Kevin do an engine swap in his sled? I have not seen it in a while, but, it was powered by a Ford diesel. Came out of a bus I was told.
