Would anyone happen to have a part number for pertronix for a farmall super m with a horizontal distributor. Thanks

You can go to the top of this page and click on Farmall-IH and it will get you into IH parts. You will need dist number to get right kit. If
you have problems you can call and talk to Pertronix directly.

The ones made the last few years are junk. Ask any honest vendor that sells them. CBS Performance in Divide, CO has good prices if you are set on putting a unit in your sm. Just don't be surprised if it dies when you need it the most or are a few feet of winning your class. I had two die in my 88 and went back to points.

Is there a difference between the vertical delco and the horizontal IH distributer when it comes to pertronix? My M has a vertical distributer. I'm in the middle of switching my super M from mag to distributer but couldn't find a vertical

Per the instructions with the new Pertronix control modules, you will also need to change your spark plug wires to carbon core wires. FYI

I have been using the new Ignitor 2, It has some features that make it much less susceptible to Ohms mismatch, can be used with real low ohm coils or high ohms ones, I respect anyone's opinions on Pertronix as all our results vary but I have been using them for many years now and very low failure rate, the tech department corrected an error they made on certain Case distributors without charge. If you want the ignitor 2 simply order the proper number for the old module with a 9 in front of the first number, EX 1442-----91442 or whatever your application calls for. It is a few bucks more but compared to what we spend on other areas it is insignificant.

that's just their excuse to cover their high failure rates, there are many tractors that have been running for several years with their ignition and solid core wires, why all of a sudden is it now a problem?

Got the 1442 pertronix kit,all bolted in, and fought with the dust cover. Couldn't get it to fit. Checked my Delco on my M , and it had it on . Called a buddy of mine that has the same the same set up and he couldn't run it either. Put it all together without the cover and it all seems to run fine ?!
