What is a real expectation for a 300 engine
with a honest rebuild using firecrater
pistons increasing bore to 350 size, head
re-done, factory spec cam, etc... Not
planning to mill anything outside of any
necessary clean up or stroke it. Just
looking for realistic idea, not imaginary
numbers. Thank you

So, sounds like high 40's is very realistic. Should be good for deadweight pulling up to 4000 pounds.

First puller was an H with 350 M&W pistons and 350 LP head. Made 52 HP on dyno once dialed in.

Don't know what or if you will be pulling this. If you are, make sure to go through the drive line looking for bad bearings, dragging brakes, etc. Make sure to totally clean your factory air cleaner, if you have to use it. Go through the distributor and governor and replace worn parts. Get a few sizes bigger venturi for the carburetor and play with them, you may need to increase the sizes of the load tube holes and air bleed jet.

Have fun!
