Simple question

This may be simpler than I think.i
don't pull and probably won't
ever.

When you guys are pulling with
front end off the ground, what do
you guys do when your done run to
let front come down gently?

I'm sure you don't slam the clutch
in and dump the front end down
breaking stuff....

What do you guys do to bring
front end back down gently?

On a foot clutch tractor: you can "feather" the clutch to let it down. Much the reverse process of taking off. A hand clutch tractor gets a bit more difficult. What I do on my Molines is throttle back to near idle and grab the clutch lever ASAP. the act of cutting rpm brings the front down fast but not hard. If fast enough on clutch I can get it disengaged before killing the engine. I have also throttled back and let it kill the engine. Don't like doing that except last resort.

Idle the engine back then push hard on both brakes. That will hold front end up. Then let off brakes gently.

I just throttle back on my JD G. Being a two cylinder JD, with enough power...usually.... I don't have to let the front end get too high, we JD guys can do that you know. If you don't have enough power, the front end won't lift very high if at all anyway. On our UTU Moline, you just close the throttle then you yank back the clutch, do it right and you won't kill it. On the Farmalls, jam the brakes as you jam the clutch.
