Hello all. I have just acquired a 1949 John Deere A SN#636787.
I have been dead sled pulling a bone stock A most of my life with a 1951 A 6-speed.
The tractor I got is a high/low 4-speed...I think? I don't know where to start, it is missing alot of parts, it does not have a carb(suggestions?) It does not have an ignition system(suggestions?) The block was previously bored 45 over(I don't know what this means)
I would like to have a competitive tractor...I don't expect to get 100hp out of this motor, I would like to restore this tractor making it run amazing, with a little extra oomph....using as many of the parts it currently has, as possible.
