13.6x38's vs. 16.9x34's

I'm pulling now with new 13.6x38 tires on 10 inch rims. I have a couple of mismatched 16.9x34 on 10 inch rims. Is it worth trying pulling with the 16.9x34's, instead of the 13.6x38's? Would I risk the 16.9x34's coming off the rims?

you need at least 14 inch wide rims for the 16.9 tires,16 is perfect. LOL many times a narrow tire will out perform a wider tire in the slower lighter classes, have done it many times.

I have never been impressed with 16.9x34 tires. They might out pull a 13.6 (as a 15.5 will) but I never had any concerns pulling against them with 15.5x38's

Really: this fits in the "don't know till you try " category. I agree that 10" is way to narrow. Need to be able to flatten out tire on the ground without it having 3-4 lb of air in it.

On the average 16.9 X 34 will out pull 15.5 X 38. Have a buddy who pulled 14.9 x 38 on a narrow rim he is tough. Yes I have just a couple of weeks ago won a 18.4 full cut class on 14.9 top cuts. But I was just lucky. But bigger generally wins.
