C153 engine

Depends on how radical you are willing to get on machine work. I know of one that is able to pull 8 mph class in 4000#. Seems it is about 300ci. (Has been a while so I may be off some on size. Engine built by a friend/neighbor.)

Even at around 280 cubic inches you could push 75hp with the right head and head work. Be careful with that kind of power in the tractor I am sure you would have that engine in, a Farmall C.

a 153 with just basic head work will make 50hp @ 1997 rpms , if you want to build something significantly larger get ahold of cliff s on here , he can surely send you in the right direction , best thing to do is figure out what classes, mph you want to pull and go from there
