IH 660 Diesel

What can be done to my D282 besides turbo to give it more hp? Or what engine should I get that could bolt in? Where I pull you can't have turbos.

I guess if you wanted to stay diesel, you could put a 466 in it. If not then a 301 Gas would probably do much better than the D282

D-301, 95 HP, out of a 715 combine would keep it looking original. DT-360, 130 hp - 200 hp, out of a bus would be easiest to find and probably the cheapest route.

I meant to say a custom rear engine plate and a custom flywheel.

Or a decently thick spacer with the stock rear engine plate for a tractor that had a 400 series engine, like a 766-1466

are you sure nobody is smart enough to match your engine numbers and what your suppose to have ?

If it's a low mph speed limit class, he probably has enough or close to enough power, and he needs to focus on traction and balance, but if it's an open speed class, he will probably need more to compete. The problem with a 660 is they are heavy and even stripped down, they still weigh a good bit. Especially when you consider a 460 could have the same engine bolted into it with a lot less weight.
