I am thing about building an Allis D17 stripped down with 38" pressed steel rears. What I am wondering is how light it would be? Will it make it to 3500 lbs class?

Anything is possible. But 4000 is more realistic. But if you strip it really good. Wd finals and torque tubes are lighter. Throw away the complete front end. Throw away the frame rails. Cale Manake rear wheels. Aluminium radiator. Tube intake exhaust manifold. The list goes on. 3500 is possible.

be careful about throwing stuff away . few clubs are going to let you pull in stock class with a tractor that doesn't even look stock . I know of a club that won't let you have 38's on a M farmall because they came with 36 . check the rules where you pull .

forgot to say my d17 weighs a little over five thousand and it's stock with hitch drawbar and wide front .
