W-9 Upgrades

I am looking to upgrade my 1950 W-9 Deering. Does anyone know if D-350 C.I. engine is worth going with or to stroke and how to stroke my C-335 C.I. McCormick Deering engine?

I'd almost be afraid to modify such a tractor because parts are hard to come by for a W9.

I really like the W9/SW9/600/650 tractors. A guy I pull with has a 600 diesel. Around here, its a tractor almost as rare as hen's teeth. Its a heavy beast, his first class is the 11,000#. The thing pulls up to the 14,000 lbs class. By the time we get that heavy, its a struggle against JD 820's and 830's because those tractors are geared lower but he's beat them.

What classes do you want to pull it in? If your competing it an enhanced class against M's you will find that your going to be at a disadvantage because the M is significantly lighter and can move more weight around.
