Connecting rod machining

I'm looking for advice on where to get work done on connecting rods to reduce wrist pin diameter from 1.25" to the more common 0.927" SBC piston. Located in north central WV. What would this work cost for a set of 6 rods? Thanks in advance.

Ollie88D If your can't find anybody in your area can send them to Tulsa. Machine shop I use can do them. Did 4 3 years ago I furnished bushings and they installed. I think it was $100 but can't remember for sure. If your rods are that size could get off the shelf bronze bushing and install them. If off a bit may have to machine rods or turn down bushings first. Will add to price. Lynn

It will depend on the shops hourly rate. When I do it I buy good bronze stock from msc or Travers tool. Then machine to fit. I would say a couple hours plus material. Not a difficult job but a little time consuming.

piston Don't know if machine shop will straighten them or not. They didn't want to weld any together. If not too bad can press them close to straight as you can and if they have bushings in wrist pin install new ones and bore them out. Will be straight then. Magnaflux to see if any cracks. Lynn
