I'm looking for help with a Oliver 77 or 88 limited slip diff. I've done some searching but haven't come up with a good solid answer. What's the best way to get the rear tires to spin together? But still be able to use the brakes for steering when needed. Thanks for any help

Just take out a shim or two out on the bearings
behind the brakes. No its not a limited slip but it
works and its free. Just take equal thickness out of
each side or it will screw up the ring and pinion
alignment.

Have the diff needled, it's basically when a special undercut cross shaft is made to replace the stock one with room for loose needle bearings to run. At the same time behind the spider gears and side gears they install brass washers. It helps allow the tractor be steered using the brakes under power easier and helps prevent the tractor from favoring one side or the other spinning out due to wear or falling in the diff.

What you may want to do is see if one side is dragging more than the other due to bearing preload in the final drive. Fairly easy using a torque wrench with the tractor on blocks.

My tractor has been known for always wanting
to pull to the left, I've adjusted air
pressure trying to correct this with no
luck. I'll try the torque wrench in the
axles to see if one has more drag
