john deere g compression ratio

you want to know what kind of compression is possible but you are at 20 to 1? Compression ratios are directly related to the octane rating of the gas you are willing to buy. piston displacement plus clearance volume divided by clearance volume equals your compression ratio

Sure you figured that right? We had one at 17:1 and it wouldn't shut off, just dieseled when you tried to shut it off.

I had 10-1 on mine. It ran fine on 93, but ran great on 100 octane aviation fuel. Ran it for years with no trouble. I'd say that's the LEAST you want to go on compression. Look up Josh Blackburn, Blackburn Performance Shop in Michigan. He knows Deeres.
