Have I missed anything needed to make a WD45 pull

I am going in two weeks to the third pull with this tractor and wondering if I am missing some thing ( pull farm stock). I carry 300 lbs. of weight up under tractor and 400 lbs. on mid frame, one set of rear wheel weights and one set of weights on front end and no fluid in rears at 10lbs. tire pressure. Drawbar is set at 28" from center of rear axle(per rules) but measures 16" off ground and it could be 18" but at 18" draw bar is not level and rules say level drawbar. Tractor has plenty of power. I pull in 4,000-4,500lb class, 4,500-5,000lb.class and 5,000- 5,500lb. class. Any suggestions appreciated thank you.

I have draw bar at 28" from center of rear axle which is minimum length alouded by club rules.

VicS I will look into turning draw bar over. We can't use a D ring in farm stock classes we have to use a twisted clevis (club rule). The way shes weighted you could run over you hand and not get hurt front wheels just barely touching ground during pull.

I am going to look at flipping drawbar over but may need to reinforce draw bar. I have seen one drawbar break and one drawbar bend in the flipped over position. I might try a little shimming but rules don't like you to do much shimming at clevis.

Get the draw bar to maximum height and put washers and shims between the clevis ends and the draw bar to make the clevis rigid. If the rules allow make a draw bar that mounts like the
early CA draw bars off the lift arms. Also having the draw bar short on an antique puller isn't necessarily a good thing, depends on your front to back weight distribution.

Might have too much pressure in the tires... Need to look at the spots where you spinout. If you want to win tire pressure is something that gets adjusted for track conditions at every pull.

I have them down to 10 lbs. and might have to go lower. How low can you go with out damaging side walls?

Flip your drawbar over as stated. But you are going to need more weight on the front, probably 200 to 300 lbs. We have run ours that way for years.

I have shortened the drawbar (28" from center of rear axle) and flipped drawbar over (16 1/2" could be 18') and shimmed clevis 1/2". I have about 200 lbs. in those two front wheel weights and hasn't lift the front wheels off the ground yet but by raising and shortening drawbar it might change things. I have been running 10 lbs. pressure and may have to go lower.

You are supposed to change the pistons from flat to high domed. I am not an Allis guy so I don't recall what model they come from but that is what they do.

The Allis Chalmers power crater engine doesn't have flat topped piston but if I remember right they are concaved pistons.

Well then they must swap flat tops in.
