John Deere A gas head numbers

I presume your speaking about styled A heads. JD didn't use different heads for gas or all fuel. They used different pistons to vary the compression ratios. They had three heads from 1940 to 1952. 1940 to March 1947 A2325R, 1947 to at least mid 1951 A3367R. The last A head was 4226 which was the best flowing of the A series heads. The 3367 and 4226 had the same chamber, the 2325 was a deeper chamber by about .250. You can bolt the later heads on the early styled A's. Think I stated this before late heads are .250 shorter so you may need to change out studs, shorten push rods or shim out the rocker arm towers if you intend to put late a head on a 1940-1947.
