Ferguson to 30

I recently got my grandfathers Ferguson To 30. I'd like to take it to the 2 local state fairs to pull. Nothing more than a day of fun. It runs strong
for its age. Loaded with ballist. No idea of the weight. 2500 to 5500 lb classes in 500 lb increments are available. 1960 and below. Now the
questions. It does not have a drawbar of any sort. Just the 3 point hitch. Where would you attach the hitch? Would the standard swinging
drawbar be the way to go? I've seen the rear of a ford 8n or ferguson ripped out on this site by pulling from only the PTO area. Do I need to
build a hitch within the rules ? Where would that attach? What gear would be the right gear to pull in? They have a 3.5-5 mph classes.
Depending what the pullers want. Sorry for the dumb questions just looking to have a little fun. Thanks, John

Probably need to build a solid hitch. This sight will sell you one. Probably need it Anyway. But it won't be a real pulling hitch. But will be fine for plow classes. 3 mph will be fine. If can pull it that fast. My friend has a 50. He can pull in 3rd with 38" tires. But motor has been breathed on. Just try low first. And as light as possible. And not over 4000 lb. Ring and pinion will not take more. Have fun.

i HAVE pulled my to-20 a lot first if your tire a loaded you will be to heavy. the only way you would be competitive is in the light classes 2850 to 3000 over that you will not have the power 1 gear is just to fast. if the pull is on black top or cement you will have a better chance on dirt you will power out. the hitch the 3 point will work but you need the top bars to lock it in place {DO NOT LEAVE IT FLOAT YOU WILL Go over BACKWARDS}and your front end will come up. not trying to scare you but your 30 is NOT the best tractor for pulling . my to-20 has a step up step down trans so i have more gears to chose from it dose very well in 2850 and 3000 but little IHC and allis are the leaders

Thanks for the replys. I'm not looking to pull at a lot of events. Just might have the tractor on display for fair week and it would add to my own enjoyment to pull if only once. It looks like the maximum with the loaded tires I am sitting around 3670 pounds including me. That's calculated at 100% loaded tires. Mine, I think are at about 80 %. So I could be a little lighter. Best I could hope for would be the 3500 pound class. The pulls are on a groomed dirt track, with a moving weighted sled. The class pulls at 3.5 or 5 mph whichever is agreed upon. So 1st gear per the manual is 3.5 at 2000 rpm. It mentions drawbar in the rules so I don't know if the 3 point is allowed. 18 inches back maximum from center of axel and a maximum of 20 inches high. If one needs built should it be closer than 18 inches if possible for optimum results? Or at 18 inches away from axel? Should it be as high or low as possible for optimum results. Or somewhere in between? Thanks again, John
