Got a m farmall i do a little pulling with im just looking for a little more power without spending a ton. Already has 4" overbore high dome pistons, and a 450 cam. I know about the lp head, not looking to spend that much right now. I have a 8574 da head now. Im just thinking like lp manifold, mill the head down, small things like that if its even worth the effort. Im not looking to make 100 hp right now just wake up a few that might be sleeping.
Thanks

You may try a set of murphys roller rockers. If I remember they are around $310 shipped to your door we put a set on a H and Made a noticeable difference. Jeff told me a few of his customers claimed 10% gain in power. Pretty good for the money. And won't have to pull the motor apart just the valve cover.

Find some one familiar with the brand and see what cam timing works best and degree in your cam. The original timing is fine for original engine 70-80% throttle field work but when you start upping compression and rpm : you may get benefits from adjusting cam timing. Worked for me on a Moline.

If you put in roller rockers you will have to pull the head to do some clearance work where the push rods go through the head. You are going to struggle making extra power with that low compression head, but a good valve job and resurfacing will help some. Also leave a muffler on it, believe it or not you lose power with a straight pipe on a stock engine.

you can change the ratio of your stock rockers with a die grinder and mig welder for a little tme is all it would cost cut them by adjusting nut and weld them back together i have done this on allis and oliver rockers gained about 35 thous. lift

get the lp head , there isn't a way to get 10 to 15 hp out of the 42 hp 264 engine without spending much more . you can spend 300 on roller rockers and get 2 or 3 maybe , I've got some and a dyno so I can tell you .

I would theorize that you'd get better bang for buck by bringing your current head to a shop and having them mill .050"-.080" off, put bigger valves in and do a port and polish...
LP heads are hard to come by for less than $900.
