It was a hot-humid afternoon for the Mapleton,KS pull...The high temperature was 95 degrees and the humidity wasn't far behind..Most farmers are very busy planting beans,baling hay,and cutting wheat so some pullers were unable to be there..
My camera man changed a setting on the camera so there won't be any pictures of me...Due to back problems I couldn't throw weights so all I pulled was the 6000 and 6500 4 MPH classes....A friend threw the weights and got rewarded with a burger and a coke..I would have won the 4 mph class but I got a speeding ticket....I'm used to 5 MPH.
1-The sled was Kelly Starbucks "Crazy Man Sled" from Fredonia,KS...It was the first time that I hooked it and its a nice sled..
2-The Stones from Eudora,KS had their MM's there..
3-Frank Grosshart from Pleasanton,KS was ready for the heat..
4-Frank Grosshart hauled 4 tractors over...I think that Frank likes IH's..
5-Tom Stevinin from Thayer,KS made the 80 mile drive up....He was a busy man throwing 2000 lbs of weight to pull 5 different Open classes..
6-Alva Snyder pulling his 300 IH...

16-A storm developing to the north of my farm this afternoon..My neighbor was cutting wheat and hauling in baled wheat straw...Not long after this a line of storms came from the south and we got a nice .35" rain..
