Yesterday I and two friends were in West Mineral,KS for a tractor pull....It was overcast and chilly in the
morning... By noon the sun was out and it wasn't too bad...Lots of pullers were missing because of HS
graduations..

Heres some pictures..

1-2 Me pulling the 5 MPH 6500 class...As you can see by the end of the run i was a little high and could
have used another 100 up front..I hooked 4 times yesterday..

3-Ross Potocniks good running WC in the 5 MPH 3500 class..

4-Albert Potocnik made the long 4 mile journey to hook his 6000 Open D-17 with a 301 in it...It made a great
pass..

5-An Econo-Mod made a pass at the end of the pull..

6-The last hook of the day was a new big block Chevy TWD from the Weir,KS area..It put lots of dirt in the
air..

7-An 8N Ford showed up to play..

8-This B JD almost took it out the end..

9-10--The Sullivan brothers from Medoc,MO had their G JD's there..The last one pictured beat the other G all
3 times if I remember right..

11-A good running M Farmall from SE KS..

12-A WD AC from the Lockwood,MO area..

13-14----After the pull was over we took a 1.5 mile drive west over to see Big Brutus...One of my friends had
never seen it..Heres some facts about it..

1-Largest electric shovel in the world.
2-160 feet tall
3-Weighs 11 million lbs
4-Bucket holds 90 cubic yards or 150 tons
5-Top speed is .22 MPH
6-Cost 6.5 million in 1962..
7-It takes 1200 gallons of paint to paint all of it.

Are you guys pulling 3mph for div. 2 and 4mph for div. 3? I have a B Allis that I may haul over to Chetopa and pulls in that area. Its low gear is just to fast for div. 2. Thanks

Doesn't really matter, but it WASN"T the largest electric shovel built. The BIG MUSKIE was almost 3 times bigger and THE CAPTON was twice as big.It is the only one still in existence tho as the others were scrapped in the late 90s.

They mostly pull at 3 mph and 5 mph with classes starting at 2600 lbs.....Call Jim at 620-762-2459 or Vernie at 620-762-6323 for info on pulls, classes, rules, tire size-etc..I'm sure that everyone would be glad to see you come and pull..

Yes,I knew at one time that there were several bigger ones but as you said it doesn't matter now as they are both gone which is a shame..Big Brutus is the largest survivor...
