Its getting to be time to go over the injectors and valves on the 4010. Before I sink a bunch of money into the original head I wanted to check to see what some other options are. Read that the late model 4020 head is preferred as a bolt on as it has slightly larger valves. Mixed reviews on the pencil injectors vs the big ones. Is it worth an extra $500 to make this change or would I just be better off to send current head out to have big valves and ported?
The other option I was reading up on was a 55 series head. I know valve clearance to sleeve is an issue and you have to cut them down some. Anyone have pictures of this? Hard to get right? What about water and oil passage alignment between the head and block, any issues there? Which head gasket, assuming one from a 404 to match the bore? Then I would have to find or have a set of lines made to run between the pump and whatever injectors come in it. Didn't find a lot of information on this topic so I am assuming it is possible but not done too often.
Running a 0.370 pump no turbo.
Thanks
