I just got back from town after buying a 50 gallon drum of VP 110 which is 107 octane...It was $425 plus a $40 deposit for the drum..

Several of my truck pulling neighbors with very high compression big block Chevys run Q16 which is 116 octane...If I remember right its $730 or more for a drum.....If I was still pulling my 180 Allis, methanol is $170 per drum...

We have used VP Late Model Plus since 2005 in our Late Models and I just kept on using it in my pulling tractor. My neighbor is the area VP dealer and a number of the guys have gone to VP Plus. Sometimes using a particular Brand or type is just copying for no specific reason. All the major performance gasoline suppliers have a similar grade, but I have not done any dyno testing on which may have an advantage. In racing, its usually the "deal" the race team is on that determines which brand of gasoline they use.

When I unloaded the drum today it said it was 54 gallons so I'm paying $7.87 per gallon...I may have to shop around some..

try some different fuel brands and try to match your compression to ur fuel you might be surprised at the results'
