Case CC tractor

Ok I have somewhat of a problem. I have a 36 case cc that I tractor pull with, last year I pulled with 4in pistons and dual fuel head, was told 5505 head was a better head so I put one on with new bearings and rings over the winter. Only pulling right at 100 ft in 4250 class. Last year before the new parts was pulling over 225 ft in 4250 class. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance

Timing might be too far ahead with increased compression. Probably going to have to get it on a dyno and try some differen't things.

Did you check the volume of both heads
combustion chambers. Did you pour solvent
in ports and be sure you got a good valve
job? Are valve guides tight? Have you
checked compression on all cylinders, with
throttle wide open? Good luck!

What do you mean volume of combustion chambers? Valve guides are right. And haventvhad a chance to check compression.

the 5505 has a smaller chamber than the 5576 and quite a bit smaller than the 4570, cyl. head volume is a mute point as far as I am concerned except for the compression increase

How big combustion chambers are. Lay a
piece of clear plastic on one with a small
hole in it. Then take a syringe and fill
it full. Then you know how big it is.
Only way to start knowing compression
ratio. Then it is pie r square.

What difference does the compression ratio make in this situation? A Case C/D engine with 4" pistons and a 5505 head will run all day on pump gas.

Nobody said it won't. He is saying he hasn't as much hp as he had. And the only thing he changed was the head. But we all know there is many things to go wrong!

Yea I changed the head. I also found out my radiator had a clog. I don't have a pto to hook a dyno up so I'm trying to find stuff on my mag to check that.
