Allis chalmers B front weight bracket

Anybody have any ideas on how to put a weight bracket on a 1939 AC B and still be able to start it with the hand crank ? My club allows 11 ft forward from center of rear axle but I'm thinking about maybe hinging it out of the way so I can start it. Close up Pictures of where and how to attach it would be great. Wide front model if that helps.

Why not hinge it on one side. You could make a real strong hinge, like out of one inch I.d. Tubing and one inch o.d. Round stock. Just a thought.

I would bolt bracket to the bolt holes at bell housing and try that first. You may not need the weight out on nose of tractor.

Bill
What class are you going to pull?
Farmstock?
Noncut?

I would recommend Farmstock for your Tractor unless you want to spend a lot of money!

You won't need much of a front weight bracket !

Cliff I think you maybe right haha. I'm not made of money. Plus if I manage to get the weight out the whole 11ft from the rear axle somehow I might need like 25 lbs on this little thing. Lol

If you only need 25 lbs. why not u bolt a bracket to front axle that you could use bar bell plate weights. If you can see them in this picture I have brackets in the frame rails that I hang bar bell weights on my WD45.

I have a picture of mine, when I get home from work I will upload. Basically it is tubing and uses a pin to slide in and out.

Nice bracket but in our area they won't let you use that bracket in farm stock or local classes.

We can only use a front bracket if manufacture made front weights for tractor from factory. This only applies to farm stock or local classes.

Up at the front by the radiator we welded some little tabs to sit on top of the cast iron. The tubing is probably 3/8 walled 1" open tube. Good luck
