Offset Grinding Oliver Crank

Allis D17 diesel /D19 and Buda rods work good but you have to narrow the big end to fit the oliver crank. But you will need custom pistons

heres a picture of one I found on the web. I forgot to mention when you narrow the rod you have to narrow the bearing, I made a holder and cut them down in my lathe. then if your going to use these in an 88-1650 type crank you have you have to drill the rod and bearing for splash lubrication, I have pictures some where of this but I couldn't find them tonight. I did this to an 88 that was 375 cubic inches it has easly 250 hooks on with no problems. if I can find my notes from building the motor I can get you the detention's on the rod. the diesel rods are drilled to oil the wrist pin and the gas is not. I've heard the gas rod is stronger

Thanks for the info. Any idea on the center to center length? The book at work gives 2 differnet crank pin diameters on the 88 crankshaft 2.25 and 2.4375. Is one for gas and other diesel?

I think all rods 66-880 are 6.75" long. 66 and 77 cranks are 2" crankpin, Super 66/77 are 2.25. All 88s are 2.25" crankpin regardless of fuel, Super 88/880s all are 2.4375. Diesel Super 88/880s the crank is hardened.
