1951 a stock piston

Can anyone tell me the distance between rest pin and top of piston ? I pulled piston yesterday and the # on it is a1240 I think it is already high compression but I don't have a stock one to compare it to,, Thank's

Is it a flat top piston, or does it have 2 notches on the edge for the spark plug holes? If it has the notch on each side, it's the higher
compression gas pistons, about 5.6:1 if I remember right. I have the info written down, but I'll have to find it. I moved 6 months ago, and
I'm still trying to find things.

What you have is an after market piston an M&W more than likely. Will be 6.75 to 1 compression and from center of wrist pin to top of piston is 6.625"

Sorry my bad, factory cast piston 5.5 from center of wrist pin to top 1/8" shorter than yours. Factory would be 6.5 to 1 compression for a gas piston.
